Earlier this year with my stock portfolio plummeting and apartment prices rising, I decided to invest whatever that is left in my portfolio in a home. I am a first time home buyer, and was casually looking on redfin for new listings for a little while. I have called a few agents before I saw one of Kurt's listings on socalmls, and how glad I found him!

He is knowledgeable, experienced, professional, and very very responsive. But besides these qualities a good agent should have, he offers so much more. You can tell he does his due diligence on both the client and property thoroughly before any meeting; I am always impressed by him remembering things so well when he has 30 listings and numerous clients to deal with. Sometimes a subtle comment goes a long way, and those comments show that he tries to think in your shoes and have your best interest in mind.

I am usually not a big fan of real estate agents- they often seem "successful" and "knowledgeable"- they drive BMW or M-Benz and carry a good price-tagged brief case. But when you actually get to know them, they don't really know what they are talking about and they don't always respond to your questions with full confidence and clarity. Kurt on the other hand, is well grounded and extremely knowledgeable. He told me that he used to buy and sell properties as an investment strategy himself, and he also manages several rental properties. He gave me a lot of good information from where to buy carpet to how to add another room in the house; from renting rooms out to filing out my tax return. He is the guy you want to be friend with because he knows so damn much!

I read a lot of his listings just to do some research on him before I met with him. There are very few agents out there that can write house descriptions well (not to mention eloquent...If you read listings on redfin, you'd know what I mean), from reading his listings I can tell that he really puts a lot of efforts into them. He also takes great pictures on all of his home postings, which makes a huge difference when a buyer is viewing the properties online initially. (As a long time Canon DSLR user myself, it was a huge plus in my book) When I am a seller someday, I will definitely call him again.

When you are making (maybe) the biggest purchase or sale in your life, you don't want to work with someone who is just good. You want to work with someone phenomenal, like Kurt.

To future readers/researchers. I just wanted to add another review for Kurt Galitski and the Kurt Real Estate Group. First off, please read my original review for Kurt back in 2013 where Kurt assisted in the purchase of my first house. That review should shed some real perspective to this review.

Well, if your read the first review you'll notice that I purchased the house in 2013 during a really difficult time to purchase a house. The market was on fire for sellers and sometimes a home here in OC wouldn't last on the MLS more than a day. There was a lot of cash offers and it was a very discouraging time to be on the buy end. But Kurt coached me through this difficult market and my first home purchase. "Believe me, there was an enormous amount of coaching". I was able to purchase a home with great bones, and then I went to work fixing it up. I am Construction savvy and was able to do a lot of the little things by myself. But I also hired several subcontractors to do some of the things that I wasn't comfortable doing, and sometimes I really didn't want to do. I should note here that during this 3 year, live in my construction site, sometimes clean, sometimes dirty home, I consulted with Kurt on several occasions. He would come to my home and make recommendations on where I should put money into the home, and seriously the most important knowledge was where to not make updates or changes. Believe me when working within a budget, it is great to have all the outside knowledge you can get so that your decisions moving forward are solid. Fast Forward to the end of the 3 years where I finished my project and put it in the market.

Of course working and consulting with Kurt during the duration of my project, I only thought it fitting and deserving that Kurt and the Kurt Real Estate Group list and sell my home. So Kurt got right to work. Professional pictures were taken immediately after he help stage my home with the furniture and things I already owned. In this case I learned that bare minimums are the way to roll. People want to picture their things in the homes they look at, not your things. Again, the coaching on the selling end is invaluable. I should also point out at this point that we were asking and marketing this house for over $500 / sq ft. Which indeed was pretty much the highest cost / sq ft in my neighborhood and surrounding areas. I know I fixed up a nice looking home and put $$ in the right places, but I was still skeptical of my marketed price. Enter the marketing!! The Kurt Real Estate Group marketed the holy he** out of my home. Professional photography was incorporated and there was even a you tube video uploaded almost immediately. Every Real Estate website as well as the MLS was updated with my home information. I can't bore you with the particulars of living in a house and selling at the same time, but it is difficult and taxing to say the least. Kurt had at least 3 different of his associates working and running open houses on weekends all through the summer. Skipping to the sale of the home; we were on the market for just about 3 months. Once I received an offer, then the real negotiations began. Kurt was phenomenal in his approach during this phase of the sale. We ended up playing a little give and take, but in the end, it all culminated with the sale of my home. And, I still set a record for $$/ sq ft for my area. We went in high and we sold high. Kurt crushed it in every single aspect of getting this difficult process done.

And as if you thought I was almost done, I just have one more process to add. I was completely ready to go rent a house for a year just to see where this real estate market was going. Selling high and buying high wasn't my first choice. However, with a lot of talking and back and forth with those closest to me, I decided to go ahead and buy. I'd take the plunge once more. Enter Kurt once again. I had already informed Kurt that I would be renting and he wished me the best of luck and said he'd be around when I was ready to buy once again. About 10 days before I was supposed to be 100% completely out of my sold home, I called Kurt to inform him of my plan to purchase. With my tight time frame, he said we need to get to work immediately knowing I was going to literally be homeless pretty soon. Kurt put together an immediate schedule with me to find time to look at homes during my busy work schedule. We identified my potential price range as well as my designated cities and neighborhoods I wished to research. Remember, I also had to begin the loan process right then and there from scratch. Moving forward, Kurt and his loan officer connections helped me make an offer, do some negotiating, and close escrow on a new home in 12 days. Closing in 12 days is not the norm. But, Kurt was able to work his magic to get this deal done and closed so that I wasn't without a home to live in for more that about a week. Well done Kurt!

Kurt and his team managed my rental property for 16 months as well as helped me then sell it in 2015. Every step of the way, he was always available, and very easy to work with.
